I hate everything the Beatles ever did, but I don't think they're overrated. Probably one of the best creators of nursery rhyme melodies ever. Why any adult would want to listen to that banal shit is beyond me though.

I find saying the Beatles is massively simplistic and completely out of context. Like it or not, the Beatles were revolutionary for music.

Play Revolver to a 17 year old today and he'd scratch his head and wonder what all the fuss was about. Play it to a kid when it was released and he'll tell you its the greatest thing comitted to vinyl.
As i said before,no such thing as bad bands or genre's,there will always be someone somewhere who loves the stuff others cant stand.

I agree.
Today's 17yo probably wouldn't get it.
I like Revolver very much but then I'm 53.
And it's no good telling him how innovative it was at the time, because its 2022 and we can't pretend it's still 1965.
My daughter is into Drill. I have given her some CDs including Led Zeppelin, Hawkwind, Radiohead, REM, Adam Ant etc, but I've no idea if she'll like them at all. Probably see it all as old fart's music.
